November 1, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we enter November, we have reached the quarter point of the school year. First quarter report cards will be sent home on Friday, November 7th. If you do not receive your student's report card, please contact us and we can mail you a copy.

November is a busy month here at Athol High. We have our boys and girls soccer teams in the district tournament this week. Also, our girls volleyball team are league champs and they will be hosting a district playoff game at Athol on Monday, November 3 at 6:30. I hope to see everyone there to cheer on our student-athletes!

The school play is this month. The students will be performing "A Play About A Dragon" on November 6 and 8 at 7:00. Spirit week will begin on Friday the 21st and will conclude with the Thanksgiving Day football game. Just a reminder, the Thanksgiving Day football game is at Athol this year at 10:00 in the morning. Also, the annual lip sync competition between the classes will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00.

There is no school on Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day. We will hold our traditional Veteran's Day assembly on Monday, November 10. There will also be a half day on November 26 and no school on November 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving.

One final note, due to the time restriction during morning break, we will not be serving full breakfasts during that time. Students who want to purchase a full breakfast or have free or reduced breakfast should get this meal from 7:15-7:35 in the morning. The short morning break time is only for grab and go type snacks and drinks. These snacks and drinks may be purchased with cash or money on your student's account. If you have any questions regarding this change, please feel free to contact me at (978) 249-2435.

I hope to see everyone out supporting our students in their many endeavors this month!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Steven C. Meyer
Principal
